Moises Ponce

Moises Ponce, 84, of Pahala died Jan. 1, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 14, 1928, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired truck driver for Ka‘u Agribusiness and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala and the ILWU Senior Club.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 26 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Pahala Catholic Church Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Ramona Ponce of Pahala; sons, Moses (Melodie) Ponce of Louisiana, Jonathan (Angela) Ponce and Alan Ponce, both of Hilo, Calvin Glen (Sharon) Ponce and Antoni Ponce, both of Pahala; daughter, Sarah Oblero of Kona; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
