John Cardoza Jr.
John V. “Braddah” “Hunter” Cardoza Jr., 73, of Ookala died Jan. 2, 2013, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born July 29, 1939, in Ookala, he was a retired construction road crewman for Hamakua Sugar Plantation and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 12 at Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Papaaloa. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Maria Cardoza of Ookala; daughters, Vivian (Jim) Mace of Missouri, Blanche (Keith) Revilla of Puna; sons, John Cardoza III, Anthony Cardoza, Brada Cardoza, Jacob Cardoza and Hershal Cardoza, all from Ookala; stepdaughters, Jenifer (Philip) Agpaoa of Honokaa, Jessica (Leighton) Roque of Paauilo; sisters, Irene Gamache of Kentucky, Elizabeth Holt of Ookala; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
