Jo Subia Sebastian, 70, of Pahala, died Dec. 19, 2012, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 20, 1942 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a papaya worker at Pahoa Papaya Farm; a planting crew member for Ka‘u Sugar Plantation; and a raker and hand harvester for M.L. Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Orchard LP. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pahala and the Diocesan Congress of Filipino Clubs.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 18 at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 19 at the church, with a funeral mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Pahala Catholic Cemetery. The family requests casual attire. Flowers are welcomed.
She is survived by a son, Allan Sebastian Jr. of Pahala; numerous nieces and nephews.
