Kona property crime report | Feb. 15 to 21


Editor’s note: This log of property crimes reported in the Kona District is a regular feature of West Hawaii Today and is compiled using Hawaii Police Department records. The department considers North and South Kona as one district.

Burglaries

Feb. 16, burglary in the area of 73-3900 Hawaii Belt Road in North Kona; a black safe containing three handguns, jewelry and money reported stolen.

Feb. 17, burglary in the area of 75-5700 Lamaokeola Street in North Kona; money and marijuana reported stolen. Police reported that a suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

Feb. 19, burglary in the area of 73-1100 Wainani Place in North Kona; money and electronics reported stolen.

Feb. 20, burglary in the area of 73-1200 Mahilani Drive in North Kona; an Apple iPad reported stolen.

Between Feb. 17 and 19, burglary in the area of 75-5700 Kalawa Street in North Kona; jewelry reported stolen.

Between Feb. 17 and 20, burglary in the area of 75-6100 Alii Drive in North Kona; miscellaneous items reported stolen.

Vehicle theft

Feb. 19, a vehicle was reported stolen in the area of Kawanui Place in South Kona. The vehicle was apparently returned prior to officers arriving at the scene. A suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

Between Feb. 17 and 20, a black Sym moped was reported stolen in the area of 76-5800 Old Government Road in North Kona.

Theft from vehicle

Feb. 15, miscellaneous items reported stolen from a bus in the area of 75-5500 Pawai Place in North Kona.

Feb. 19, money reported stolen from a vehicle near Triangle Park, off Kuakini Highway, in North Kona.

Between Feb. 16 and 18, a DeWalt impact drill reported stolen from a vehicle near 75-5700 Kalawa Street in North Kona.

Theft

Feb. 15, money reported stolen in the area of 74-900 Manalawea Street in North Kona.

Feb. 16., a black purse with contents reported stolen at LuLu’s Restaurant and Bar in North Kona.

Feb. 16, two steak dinners reported stolen at Bongo Ben’s after a man ordered the food and left without making payment.

Feb. 16, two Diamondback mountain bicycles reported stolen from a garage in the area of 73-1300 Kaiminani Drive in North Kona.

Feb. 16, money reported stolen at the Kuakini Highway McDonald’s.

Feb. 17, a Shimano rod and reel reported stolen from a boat parked on a property in the area of 73-1100 Kaiminani Drive in North Kona.

Feb. 20, money reported stolen at Island Lava Java.

Feb. 21, four rims and four tires reported stolen from a vehicle at Hualalai Garage in North Kona.
