Child support payments delayed

A fire near Honolulu International Airport Tuesday damaged the communication line the state’s Child Support Enforcement Agency uses to access its system mainframe. Without those lines, CSEA officials said Wednesday they are unable to update any incoming client information or post any payments. When the communication lines are fixed — about 200 feet of lines were destroyed — the agency will be able to bring the mainframe online again.

CSEA officials anticipate a delay of one day, meaning people who normally receive child support payments around this time of the month should expect a short delay in receiving the electronic transfer of their support payments.
