Body reportedly found on Ka’u shoreline

Big Island police are investigating the possible discovery of a body in Ka‘u.

Hawaii Police Department Area II Criminal Investigations Section Capt. Chad Basque said detectives were responding to the 11 a.m. Saturday report of a body found at a remote, inaccessible beach along the shoreline in the Kahuku area. Initial reports indicate the body was found at a campsite.

He said police may have to access the scene via boat. No further information was available at press time.
