Wyland Oceanfront Gallery is hosting what it claims is the largest fine art event in the history of Kailua-Kona. For the first time, more than 20 Big Island artists will be gathered under one roof, for one night only, displaying their finest works. This year, for the first time, the public will vote for their favorite artwork; where five awards will be given out at 9 p.m. today.
Voting started Thursday evening with hundreds of new artworks on display. All the artists will be appearing today between 6 and 9:30 p.m. to meet and greet all patrons and art enthusiasts who attend the event. Autograph and photo opportunities will also be available throughout the evening. All artwork will be specially priced for sale through 11 a.m. Sunday. Wine, cheese, pupu and refreshments will also be available, as well as balloons for the keiki. Voters are also entered to win fine art. All Best of the West art will remain on display until 11 a.m. Sunday with first through fifth place ribbons donning the winning art.
