Agatha Christie’s mystery masterpiece, “The Mousetrap,” begins with a handful of guests arriving at Monkswell Manor. They find themselves isolated by a storm and soon discover there may be an intended murder victim among them, or even a murderer. After the constabulary skis in, mayhem ensues and the audience is treated to a classic whodunnit tale.
Waimea Community Theatre will present the play Friday and Saturday evenings, with Sunday matinees, Feb. 22 through March 3, at Parker School.
Director Felicity Johnson has completed casting for the show.
The hosts of Monkswell Manor, Giles and Mollie Ralston, will be portrayed by David Merrin and Jennifer McCord. Chris Wren, a quirky female architect, is played by Kat Reuss, while crotchety Mrs. Boyle will be brought to life by Madeleine Schatz. Bill Cruise will be seen as the imperious Major Metcalf, while the somewhat odd Miss Casewell is played by Linda Evans. John Sucke appears as somewhat suspicious foreigner Mr. Paravicini. Kelly Barrick rounds out the cast as skiing detective Sgt. Trotter.
Tickets will be available in mid-February at Waimea General Store and Without Boundaries in Waimea, and at Suite Possibilities in Kailua-Kona. Call 885-5818 for more information or visit waimeacommunitytheatre.org.
