Vessels on display at Dunn Gallery

Dunn Gallery in Kapaau is hosting its fourth annual Vessel Exhibit this month. The exhibit features assorted vessel styles crafted from a variety of woods from Hawaii and beyond. Dunn Gallery showcases closed and open vessel forms, segmented vessels, sculptural vessels and vessels with ornamentation created by artists from around the world.

John Ecuyer of New Zealand presents ceremonial vessels. Ecuyer incorporates shell inlay into his work. Washington resident Thomas Hohl shows a segmented prayer wheel created from a variety of hardwoods. Idaho artist Jim Christiansen joins the exhibit with a turned and carved floral chalice. Kelly Dunn proffers both traditional wood vessels as well as contemporary ones. Dunn’s latest creations are inspired by Hawaii’s flora.

Dunn Gallery is located at 54-3862 Akoni Pule Highway. For more information, call 884-5808 or visit dunngallerywoodart.com.
