Annabel Spielman will teach a series of watercolor classes from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 21, 22, 24 and 25 at Kona Arts Center. Spielman will demonstrate techniques for beginners and those who want a refresher course. The first two classes will focus on flowers, using free-flowing paint. The subject matter for the Jan. 24 and 25 classes will be water — both ocean and pond — and experiments with ways to save the white of the paper.
From dry brush to wet-on-wet, from glazing to splatter, some of the secrets of watercolor will be explored and demystified. Students will observe step-by-step demonstrations, then have time to try their own creations.
The fee for the series is $200. For a reservation, supply list or more information, call Karen at 323-2757 or Collie Will at 325-6185.
