The Paradise Studio Tour Artist Collective Exhibit opens with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wailoa Art and Cultural Center in Hilo. The show runs through Sept. 27.
The exhibit is a multimedia show of more than 30 Big Island artists and includes pottery, glass, jewelry and paintings ranging in style from realism to abstract.
The artist collective has donated nearly $6,000 over the past five years to the art departments of Keaau and Pahoa high schools and The Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science. The collective is known for its annual December open-studio events.
The reception will feature live music by Tropical Pops, a three-piece harp, flute and bass group. The event is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.
The center is a division of state Parks, Department of Land and Natural Resources. It is free and open to the public Monday through Friday. For more information, call 933-0416 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
