Three professional Big Island singers are heading up the cast for “A Chorus Line,” the next production of the Aloha Performing Arts Company, which is directed and choreographed by Lee Vinson. Priscilla Basque plays Cassie, Jeannine Guillory plays Sheila and Yisa Var is Val. These local chanteuses collectively provide the production with a broad spectrum of professional performing experience, including television, movies and theater.
Joining them in the cast are Steven Orton, Johnny Gomez, Raisa Klyne, Taylor Kinsey, Kelly Drake, Vinson, Robb Dahlke, Kai Fink, Alec Lugo, Delaney Ross, Sandra Huitt, Tracey Fosso, Caitie Johnson-Underwood, Roxanne Fox, Heather Bartlett, Ashley Fuksa, Rachel Leonard, Jen Johansen, Marie-anne Rouse, Leena Fuksa, David Payne and Jerry Tracy.
“A Chorus Line” centers around a group of dancers auditioning for the chorus of a big Broadway musical. The aforementioned Vinson brings years of experience with the show to APAC’s production. He is joined on the production team by Dale Ross, music director; Sue Boyum, vocal director; Rouse, assistant director; and Ariana Bassett, technical director. Designers include Hadley Catalano, Bob Gage, Miguel Montez, Marylei Drake and Toni Reynolds.
The show runs from July 13 to 29 at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 and $17 and available by calling 322-9924 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.
