Gabriel Galvizo “Abe” Jose, 58, of Pepeekeo died Nov. 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 18, 1954, in the Philippines, he was a proprietor of a taxi company and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Jovy Jose of Pepeekeo; daughters, Brenda Jose of Pepeekeo, Jaquelyn Julian of Kawaihae, Jeanie Lyn Julian of Kona, Evelyn (Lester) Berano of Ewa Beach, Oahu; son, Emerson (Katherine) Julian of Maui; brothers, Angelo (Lucia) Jose of Pahoa, Liborio (Tessie) Jose of Pepeekeo, Hipolito (Lydia) Jose of Honomu, Leondro Jose of Las Vegas,Luis (Imelda) Jose of Keaau, Lorenzo Jose of Philippines; sisters, Pearla (Angelo) Magarine of Pahoa, Macrina Sabado of Ainaloa, Justina (Rogelio) Andrada of Philippines; 12 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
