Volcano Art Center celebrates creative dance with internationally renowned dance artist Shizuno Nasu. Her summer series, “Dancing on the Earth,” begins July 7 at the center’s Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village.

Dancers will learn expressive dance movements based on Hara Tanden chi energy theory. These Asian techniques inspired by the wind, water and fire energies increase concentration and enlightenment of the spirit through fluid motion and relaxation.

The classes, planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1, are open to all levels, including novice dancers. Per session tuition is $45; $40.50 for center members. Class size is limited and preregistration is required.
