Buddhist teacher speaking in Captain Cook

Tulku Zangpo Rinpoche will share Buddhist teachings Saturday and Sunday at Paleaku Botanical Peace Garden, 83-5401 Painted Church Road, Captain Cook.

Rinpoche will dedicate Saturday to Lama Tarchin Rinpoche, who was a teacher and friend of the Garden. Dharma activities will begin at 10 a.m. Tulku Zango Rinpoche will deliver “Severing the Root of Suffering” from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is on a sliding scale from $40 to $60.

Rinpoche will offer a water blessing from 10 a.m. to noon. This ritual practice promotes healing, encourages a sense of well-being and happiness, mitigates negative Karma, and increases generosity and compassion toward oneself and others. Bring flower offerings. Cost is $20.

Proceeds will go to a school fund for the children of Golok, Tibet. For more about Rinpoche, visit compassionfellowship.org. For reservations or other information, call the Garden at 328-8084, email paleaku@hawaii.rr.com or visit paleaku.com.
