New day spa grand opening is Friday
Frangipani Ola Mau Spa is a new day spa specializing in anti-aging inside and out. A grand opening and blessing is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at its site in Pualani Terrace in Kealakekua.
The spa offers Provence Cosmetics from the south of France, anti-aging facial and body treatments, “The Lunchtime” noninvasive facelift as seen on TV, massage and custom aromatherapy body scrubs.

KTA kicks off Score for Scholarships
Now through Feb. 12, KTA shoppers can enter for their chance to win KTA gift certificates or a grand prize fly-away for four to Oahu courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines when they purchase three participating Score for Scholarships products.
Each Wednesday, two customers from each KTA location will win $50 KTA gift certificates. On Feb. 13, one grand prize winner, selected from all remaining entries, will receive an Oahu Fantasy Family Fly-Away, which includes airfare for four to Oahu and a three-night stay at Aulani-A Disney Resort & Spa. The grand prize winner will also receive tickets to the UH-Hilo men’s basketball game against Brigham Young University-Hawaii on Oahu, a $500 shopping spree at Ala Moana Center, rental car and admission to Wet ‘N’ Wild Hawaii water park.
Purchasing participating products does more than give customers more chances to win prizes it also directly supports the Score for Scholarships program. The money raised through various UH-Hilo team sports is put toward the KTA UHH Score for Scholarships Endowment Fund.
