No tsunami triggered by Japan earthquake

No tsunami is expected following a magnitude-6.8 earthquake that struck at Friday morning off the coast of Japan.

The earthquake hit at 8:13 a.m. in the Kuril Islands area, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
