Firefighters late Thursday remained at the scene of a reported brush fire that broke out mauka of the University of the Nations in Kailua-Kona.
Hawaii Fire Department personnel responded to the report shortly after 7:30 p.m., according to the department. Shortly after the report, flames were not visible from Hualalai Road and Kuakini Highway.
Firefighters remained at the scene as of press time, according to the department. No further information was available.
