Earthquake shakes Kona Coast

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.0 earthquake Saturday morning centered along the North Kona coast.

According to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, the 9:52 a.m. earthquake was centered 5 miles north-northwest of Kailua-Kona. The quake was about 7.2 miles deep. No tsunami was generated.
