Congratulations, America. You have now voted for a man who will not fight for common-sense gun laws. I truly hope your preschool-aged child doesn’t get killed by a crazy person with a legally bought assault rifle.

Congratulations, America. You have now voted for a man who might as well destroy the Statue of Liberty since the immigrants who built our country will no longer be welcomed here.

Congratulations, America. You have now voted for a man who, with his Supreme Court choices, will make it illegal for same-sex couples to get married. Think about your gay friends and family. Congratulations, America. You have now voted for a man who said he will bring back your jobs that went overseas. It was greedy corporate CEOs who took them away. Congratulations, America. You have now voted for a greedy corporate CEO who manufactures his products overseas and doesn’t pay taxes.

Congratulations, America. Retirees should now check their retirement accounts. As of this writing, the stock market has dropped 900 points and the global markets are tanking.

Congratulations, America. You showed the world how democracy works. You have voted for a man based on anger and fear, not decency and compassion. Our place in the world as the voice of reason has severely been diminished.

Congratulations, America. After getting over the initial shock, I somehow don’t think congratulations are in order. I can’t wait for the first State Dinner honoring Vladimir Putin. Will David Duke be invited?
