Loana English

Loana Joy English, 61, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 21, 2017, at her home. Born March 16, 1956, in Longbeach, California, she was secretary for PacifiCom Systems and a notary public.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Pahoehoe beach park for a celebration of life.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life to be held 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Pahoehoe Beach next to Magic Sands beach in Kailua- Kona, Hawaii. Online condolences:

She is survived by husband, Doug English; brother, Marty (Nanette) Sparke; children, Cecelia (Danny) Robinson, Charles English, Dylan English, and Donovan English; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Warren

Elizabeth Kalaniliikapeka Hoomanawanui Warren, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 7, 2017, at her residence. Born May 15, 1956, in North Kona, she was a ground handler for UPS.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. on Sept. 4 at Lanakila Congregational Church in Kainaliu for a 5:30 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. on Sept. 4 at the church for a service. Burial to follow at noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship will follow at the Big Game Fishing Clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor in Kailua-Kona.

She is survived by sons, Pilipo Warren, of Tucson, Arizona, and Leonard (Solinu’u) Warren and Lucas Warren, all of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Vashti (Jesus) Davalos, of Guam; brothers, Louis (Renee) Hoomanawanui, of Anahola, Kauai, Hiram (Lynn) Hoomanawanui, Henry Hoomanawanui and Moses Hoomanawanui, all of Hilo, Alfred (Nyda) Delpino, of Kailua-Kona, John Noah Hoomanawanui, of Maui; hanai brother, Luther (Emma) Lenton Sr., of Oahu; sisters, Cynthia (Gary) Akimseu and Kaila (Gary) Williams, all of Hilo; half sister, Eunice (Alex) Reyla, of Washington; hanai sister, Jeanie Cluff, of Kawaihae; seven grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Francis Emrick

Francis Emrick, 57, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 13, 2017, at Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Los Angeles, California.

He has no known next of kin.

Sueko Sakai

Rev. Sueko Sakai, 94, of Hilo, died July 27, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a great bishop from the Daigoji Shingon Buddhist Temple in Kyoto, Japan.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by niece, Lynn Sakai Gushiken; grandniece, Julie Gushiken; grandnephew, Kenny Gushiken; two great-grandnieces and one great-grandnephew.

Robert Livingstone

Robert “Bob” James Livingstone, 65, of Keaau, died Aug. 18, 2017, at his residence. Born May 7, 1952, in Boston, he was the inventor of the outdoor game Crolof.

He is survived by wife, Deborah Livingstone, brother; William Livingstone; two nieces and six nephews.

Philip Spidell

Philip Morrow Spidell, 71, of Waikoloa, died July 21, 2017, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1945, in San Diego, California, he was a landscaper.

Joseph Lorenz Jr.

Joseph Steven Lorenz Jr., 56, of Hilo, died Aug. 10, 2o17, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of the former Aloha Lawn &Landscaping and was a commercial fisherman.

Services are pending.

He is survived by daughter, Jonee (Rachel Deliz) Carvalho, of San Francisco; son, Joseph Lorenz III, of Pearl City, Oahu; hanai son, Esdakio (Michelle) Semens, of Waipahu, Oahu; brother, Victor Lorenz, of Hilo; sisters, Steveanna (William) Sykes, of New Hampshire, Joven (Charles) Russell, of Sacramento, and Tammy Sanchez, of Hilo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
