Aurellio Abellera Sr.

Aurellio Abellera Sr., 78, of Pahala died May 22, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 6, 1939, in Kapapala; he was a retired supervisor at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and proprietor of Abellera Coffee &Macadamia Nut Farm Honaunau. He also was an Air Force veteran.

Friends may call for visitation from 9-10 a.m. July 1 at the New Hope Church Hilo with a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by companion, Lorraine Ahkay of Hilo; daughters, Theresa (John) Ishii of Kona, Patricia (Lon) Ishii of Volcano; son, Aurellio Jr. (Cheryl) Abellera of Hilo; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; brother, Henry (Anastacia) Abellera of Kona; sister, Dolores Diego of Hilo; one uncle.

Kathleen Toledo

Kathleen Hualani “Chunky” Toledo, 72, of Hilo died June 5, 2017, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. She was born in Wailuku, Maui, and was a retired customer service representative with the Matson Navigation Co. She was also a member of the Berean Bible Church.

She is survived by sons, Alexander (Lacey) Toledo of Hilo, M. Keola (Hollie) Toledo of Keaau; daughter, Lilia (Lee) Arquero of Keaau; brothers, Clifford (Mary Lou) Hokoana of Pahoa, Louis (Rosemary) Hokoana of Hilo; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. July 1 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

Kammi Kelekoma

Kammi Kauionalani Kelekoma, 30, of Mountain View died June 17, 2017, in Hilo. Born Nov. 23, 1986, in Hilo, she was a self-employed babysitter.

Friends may call for visitation from 4-6 p.m. July 1 at Dodo Mortuary chapel with a 6 p.m. service. Casual attire is requested. Flowers and lei are welcomed. Cremation will follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.

She is survived by husband, Kameron Kelekoma of Mountain View; son, Kameron Kelekoma of Mountain View; daughters, Kambry Kelekoma and Kamberlyn Kelekoma of Mountain View; parents, Rick and Leina DeMello of Pepeekeo; brothers, Ricky (Wehi) DeMello and Logan (Isaiah) DeMello of Pepeekeo; maternal grandmother, Alberta Nathaniel of Hilo; paternal grandfather, Daniel DeMello of Keaau; father, Kalani (Judy) Kelekoma of Kauai; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Charles Atiz

Charles “Charlie” Emilio Atiz, 96, of Laupahoehoe, died May 29, 2017, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born on Jan. 4, 1921, in Naalehu, he was a retired tractor operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. He was also a volunteer for Pudding Lassiter and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Laupahoehoe Senior Citizens.

Visitation will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. July 1 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe with a eulogy from 9-9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Alae Cemetery, Section I. Casual attire.

He is survived by daughters, Brenda Cabote of Laupahoehoe, Rosemarie (Bernard) Wong of Kauai and Sharleen (Reggie Jr.) Ojano of Hilo; brother, Entirio Atiz of Mountain View; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three hanai grandchildren; seven hanai great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth Navalta

Ruth Halupa Ynigues Navalta, 94, of Hilo died June 5, 2017, at home. Born in Haina, she was a sales clerk, custodian for Ookala Headstart and a retired farmer.

Private family services were held.

She is survived by sons, Roy Navalta of Keaau, Wilfred (Tauna) Navalta of Hilo; daughters, Linda (Alan) Miyahira, Piilani Borges, all of Hilo; hanai daughter, Jewel Lizardi of Hilo; brother, Thomas Ynigues of Honolulu; sisters, Lucy Meyer of Hilo, Beatrice (Edwin) Narte of California; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
