Tutu’s House 6-27-17

June 27, 2017 - 12:35am

Will vs. Trust led by John G. Roth will be held from 10 a.m.—noon July 1. It’s possible to use a will or a trust to say who you want to receive your property after your life, but each accomplishes different goals. Learn how trusts can sometimes be used to accomplish additional goals, such as avoiding the probate process, protecting property in the event of a lawsuit or divorce, minimizing taxes and reducing the chances of disputes following a person’s death. There will be time for questions and answers.

Tutu’s House will be closed July 4 for Independence Day.

Caregiving Conversations will meet from 11 a.m.—noon July 5 with professional caregiver Karyn Clay. Whether you are a caregiver by heart, hire or relationship, join fellow caregivers in sharing stories, support and inspiration.

Yoga Basics with Janet Lam meets from 8—9 a.m. every Monday, except July 10. Start your week feeling balanced, flexible and strong. This class includes fundamental yoga poses, and although not specifically a beginner’s class, the movement sequence can easily accommodate students new to yoga or returning to a yoga practice.

Tutu’s Quilters meets from 9:30 a.m.—noon each Monday with Kathy Lukens. The get-together is for beginners and experienced to learn quilting Hawaiian style. Initial supplies are provided or participants can bring something they are working on.

Chair Tai–Chi Kung with Cathleen Rickard is held from 1:30—2:30 p.m. every Monday. Enjoy simple hand and leg movements, postures and gentle deep breathing techniques while remaining seated in a chair. This movement series emphasizes flow of internal energy to improve organ function, range of motion, blood pressure balance and overall physical and mental well-being. This class works well for seniors, physically challenged persons and folks recovering from surgeries or living with injuries.
