PBS Hawaii brings HIKI NO event to Waimea Sept. 27

WAIMEA — Offered exclusively to administrators, teachers and students — including those in home schooling programs — PBS Hawaii will host a free presentation from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 27 at Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s Gates Performing Arts Center. It will focus on their statewide digital learning initiative and student news program.

    HONOKAA — For nearly 40 years, Honokaa High School Jazz Band has performed for eager audiences across the Big Island and state. Earlier this month, the Grammy-winning school’s musical legacy, under the direction of Gary Washburn, released its 15th CD, “Off the Beatin’ Path,” as an annual fundraising project to support the band’s travel and other costs.
