Prince Dance Institute shares fall schedule

WAIMEA — Beginning Sept. 6, Prince Dance Institute will offer more than 25 performing arts classes at Kahilu Theatre and Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea, and the Honokaa Hongwanji Mission.

Enrollment is open and the weekly classes will continue through Dec. 15. Among the offerings are dance, theatre, music and acrobatics, with classes available for all ages and skill levels. Performance opportunities will be available for interested students.

“We’re so excited for our upcoming fall semester. In addition to our long-standing favorites at Kahilu Theatre, we’ve added several new classes like tap, dance-based musical theatre, glee and two acting classes,” said Angel Prince, Prince Dance Institute’s director. “I am also thrilled to announce that we are branching out to new locations at HPA and Honokaa’s Hongwanji Mission. It’s going to be a jam-packed semester with great classes, incredible instructors and all genres of the performing arts.”

Prince Dance Institute faculty members include Alexis Gaines, Angel Prince, Amanda Trusty, Candie Duggan, Chris “Mana” Ho’opai, Elizabeth Brawner, Kalena Zindric, Kat Reuss, Kendyll Howard, Leia Lawrence and Lynn Barre.

Kahilu Theatre Class Information Classes will be from 2:30-7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday on Kahilu Theatre Main Stage and in Mike Luce Studio. They will include acting technique, aerial silks, ballet, break dancing, contemporary dance, glee, hip hop, hula, keiki dance, and musical theatre with dance and drama, performance and choreography, tap, trapeze and theatre games.

The Honokaa Hongwanji Mission Class Information Classes will be from 2:30-5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. They are ballet, jazz and parent-child creative movement class. Moms and dads are welcome.

Hawaii Preparatory Academy Class Information Classes in acrobatics and tumbling will be held on Mondays from 5-7:30 p.m.
