Hawaii Women’s Legal Foundation
Hawaii Women’s Legal Foundation (“HWLF”) is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2016 grant program from organizations and projects that help to improve the legal status and welfare of women and children in Hawaii. HWLF considers grant applications twice a year in April and October. The deadline for receipt of grant applications for consideration in October is October 7, 2016.
HWLF typically awards “micro” grants in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000.
HWLF prefers not to award funds for operational expenses, and instead prefers to make awards on a project-by-project basis or as a means to “jump-start” an organization’s funding sources. HWLF’s primary criteria in considering funding applications include:
(1) improving women and children’s access to the legal system; (2) reducing child abuse; (3) reducing domestic violence; (4) reducing sexual abuse; (5) increasing financial independence; and (6) improving women and children’s health, education and welfare.

• Medical-Legal Partnership in Hawaii (MLP) (c/o Waimanalo Health Center)
• Roman Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii/Waimea Catholic Church — Annunciation Parish
• Surfrider Spirit Sessions

Offers simple practices that can put us in touch with our innate compassion and help us cultivate compassion for ourselves and those around us—at home, at work and in every aspect of our lives.
