State changes plan for Puna precincts closed by Iselle
The state Office of Elections is planning to hold a mini-election for the two Puna precincts that were unable to open on Primary Election Day.
The election — only for people in those two precincts who didn’t get to vote Hawaiian Paradise Community Center (04-01) and Keonoepoko Elementary School (04-02) — will be held Friday, said Elections Office spokesman Rex Quidilla. The polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voters in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Final results of the 2014 Primary Election will be released the same evening.
The on-site election will replace the office’s previous plan to mail absentee ballots.
