For the second time this week, a Hale Nani inmate has escaped from the Hilo facility

Twenty-seven-year-old inmate Kalikona Fukuhara ran away from the reintegration center at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday. The Hawaii Police Department and state Department of Public Safety sheriffs were notified. Why he left the center is under investigation, according to the Department of Public Safety.
