No tsunami threat to Hawaii following Micronesia earthquake

No tsunami was triggered by a magnitude-6.5 earthquake that struck Wednesday in the Federated States of Micronesia.

The earthquake occurred at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. Based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
