Military convoys from Kawaihae to PTA planned this week

Oahu-based Marines will convoy from Kawaihae Harbor to Pohakuloa Training Area several days this week.

The convoys will take place between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, according to the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii. Convoys will use the Akoni Pule Highway Corridor, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway, and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway.

Military police will escort the convoys. The PTA Department of Army police are working closely with local authorities and military units to coordinate this activity. Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care.
