Hawaii County is reopening an early voting location at the Pahala Community Center in Kaʻu.
“We looked at the statistics, looked at the numbers,” said Hawaii County Elections Administrator Pat Nakamoto. “It kind of warranted opening the Pahala Community Center.”
A new polling place will be located at the Pahoa High School cafeteria, said Nakamoto. The only other one for that area is in Hawaiian Beaches, she said.
There are three other absentee walk-in polling places: Hawaii County’s Aupuni Center in Hilo, West Hawaii Civic Center, and Waimea Community Center.
Early walk-in voting begins July 28 and ends Aug. 7.
