387-foot luxury yacht remains off Kona Coast
A luxury yacht that measures more than a football field in length remains in the waters off the Kona Coast on Thursday.
The “A,” previously known as “SF99,” pleasure craft, which flies under the flag of Bermuda, measures 387 feet in length and 59 feet in width, according to MarineTraffic.com, a website which features a vessel tracking system. It is currently at anchor off of the Kaloko-Honokohau area, north of Kailua-Kona.
According to Forbes.com, the vessel is owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko. Various reports value the vessel from $260 million to more than $300 million. It is reportedly named after his wife, Aleksandra Nikolic, a Serbian model.
