Drop off locations around the island include: Kmart, Wal*Mart, Office Max, ChoiceMart
Other locations may be added.
Every year thousands of children here on Hawai'i Island start the new school year off without the necessary supplies they need. Instead of their first day being one of excitement and enthusiasm, they are often embarrassed or ashamed because they lack the tools and supplies their fellow students’ possess to be successful.
Join the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce in supporting the Kako’o I Na Keiki initiative by purchasing just a few of the needed supplies to make the first day of school a GREAT one for our Hawai'i Island keiki. Do some shopping at one of the locations listed above on Saturday, July 26 and add school supplies to your cart. Then drop them off at the KKCC table just outside the entrance. Cash or checks can also be accepted. (Checks made out to Hawaii Island United Way —Support the Keiki.) KKCC volunteers will be ready to accept your donations between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
We will turn all donations over to the great team of KAPA Hawaiian fm and the Hawaii Island United Way, sponsors of this program. They will distribute to schools around our island the first week of August.
Can’t make the July 26 date? No problem. Do your shopping early and drop off school supplies at the Chamber office anytime between now and July 25.
Contact the Chamber office at 329-1758 or email to email@example.com.
