Friday, August 15 from 6-8pm Free Admission - Potluck Style, please bring a dish to share The Donkey Mill welcomes back Ride the Breaks, an annual festival celebrating Hip Hop culture through breakdancing, graffiti writing, deejaying, and emceeing. Through performances, competitions, live painting, lectures, demonstrations, and workshops throughout Kona, RTB hopes to present all the elements of Hip Hop. The festival this year includes a presentation at the Donkey Mill Art Center by John “PRIME”. Prime has over 25 years experience in Urban Art and is the founder of 808 Urban, Hawaii’s first Urban Arts Youth Organization. He has created over 50 large scale cultural murals across the Hawaiian Islands and the continental US. He continues to serve underprivileged communities on Oahu through art workshops, community organizing and mural making since 2007. He is currently the Director of Youth Mentorship for Pow Wow Hawaii.
