Read Aloud Program
The Friends of the Libraries, Kona is hosting their free family Read Aloud Program, "Books are Building Blocks," from 4:30 – 6:30 PM on Tuesday, November 5th at the Kailua Kona Public Library. During this school year, participants will travel around the world and get their “passports” stamped each month as we explore the world through reading. Join us for this entertaining and informative program to encourage family literacy. Our Passport this month takes us to Japan. Our guest speaker will be local resident, Randal Smith, a Japanese Dance Instructor, dressed in his kimono and speaking about Japanese Culture. He will teach a simple bon dance. Come join us with a hapi coat and fan. Learn some dance steps and hear more about one of our enduring cultures in Kona. Refreshments will include a Japanese dessert.
