This course will focus on the creation and use of plaster molds.  Students will begin by making positive forms using a variety of materials: clay, foam, or pre-existing objects. The class will then create plaster molds using these forms and the formation of both single-part and multiple-part molds will be demonstrated. The second half of the class will focus on the many uses of plaster molds - slip casting, press molding, and slab construction etc. Alongside learning the process and techniques of mold-making,  ideas of replication and multiples will be considered.
