Come on down for an evening of warm Southern hospitality. Featuring your own fine home cooking, potluck style, and dancing with Kona's lown ONO GUMBO zydeco band, the entertainment will include old-time Creole waltzes, the latest ONO GUMBO originals, and classic zydeco songs like Jambalaya, I'm a Hog for Youand Don't Mess with My Toot Toot.
Zydeco comes from rural southwest Louisiana, and has its roots in Cajun, blues and Afro-Caribbean music. Heloise Lochman on accordion and vocals; Chris Lochman on rubboard; Greg Shirley playing bass; drummer Dave Ousley; and smokin' fiddle with Jeff Quinn, all add up to an irrestistable gumbo that will have y'all tappin your toes, or up on the dance floor if that's your pleasure.
All ages are encouraged to join the party. Bring a Southern or Creole dish to share, any masks or beads you may have: dress up fine and we'll all "pass a good time," as they say in the bayou country.
