The Kealakekua Public Library will be hosting Kiana Davenport in a discussion of the background and research behind her latest adult fiction book, The Spy Lover. Based on her family history, it is at once an historical novel, a haunting love story, and a brilliant expose on the treatment of minorities during the Civil War.
A graduate of the University of Hawaii, Kiana has been a Bunting Fellow at Harvard University, a Visiting Writer at Wesleyan University, and a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant. Kiana is a local author who lives on Hawai’i Island. The Kealakekua Public Library has copies of her other outstanding books: Shark Dialogues, House of Many Gods, and Song of the Exile.
