Ten years ago Kilauea Drama & Entertainment Network (KDEN) brought the magic of Gilbert & Sullivan’s operettas back to the East side of Hawaii with “Pirates of Penzance”. Since then they have performed “The Mikado” (2005), “H.M.S. Pinafore” (2008) and “Patience”. This summer KDEN presents its fifth Gilbert and Sullivan operetta “Ruddigore; or, The Witch’s Curse”.
“Ruddigore; or, The Witch’s Curse” opens July 11 and runs through July 27 with performances at 7:30 on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 on Sundays. Tickets are $15 general, $12 for students and seniors over 60 and $10 for children 12 and under and are available at Kilauea General Store in Volcano, Kea’au Natural Foods in Kea’au and The Most Irresistible Shop in Hilo.
