On Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 5:30PM the Kailua Kona Library will present a film on the history of Peace Corps training on the Big Island. This film was made from over 1,000 donated slides and photos from former Peace Corps Volunteers and Staff who trained on the Big Island from 1962 to 1971 when training was moved overseas. One hundred and twenty-five different programs trained in Hawaii. One of the most memorable sites was Waipio Valley, which served as a transitional site very suited for the purpose. For more information, contact the library at 327-4327.
