The Donkey Mill Art Center is proud to present the “Cycles of Life” from February 12 until April 6, 2013 with a reception on February 21 at 6:00 pm. The reception is free and open to the public, beginning with an ohana-style potluck followed by a slide lecture with guest artist Holly Roberts. This is an exhibition of narrative figurative work that brings together artists from various media to explore the power and mystery of storytelling in the visual arts.
The concept for this exhibition is inspired by the work of Holly Roberts and Tip Toland, two of Donkey Mill Art Center’s 2013 Laila Twigg-Smith artists-in-residence. Both artists use personal patterns, symbols, and images to create visual manifestations of interior dialogues. Other artists include Gerald Lucena, Margo Ray, Scott Yoel, Jacob Medina, Rod Cameron, Sally Lundburg, Amber Aguirre, Lee Ballard, Esther Shimazu and Elizabeth Alexander.
