Hawaii Community College is offering a one week Math Boot Camp for students interested in improving their COMPASS Placement test score. COMPASS Placement is used by the college to determine what math class students should start with. Students who have not taken a math class for a while often have difficulty with the COMPASS test. Experience shows that students who spend time working practice problems and refreshing skills can improve their scores, and thus. reduce the number of developmental math courses they are required to pass before registering for a college-level math class.
The Math Boot Camp will be held in the Computer Lab on the UH Center, West Hawaii campus, 81-964 Halekii St. Kealakekua HI 96750. Camp dates and time are Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Students completing the camp may retake the COMPASS Placement test on Friday afternoon, June 28 for FREE; a savings of $25.
The Math Boot Camp is FREE but requires pre-registration. Call 969-8830 to register and get information or email firstname.lastname@example.org, put math boot camp in the subject line.
