Kilauea Drama & Entertainment Network (KDEN) celebrates its tenth year of summer musicals with the timeless magical fairy tale, Rodgers & Hammerstein's “Cinderella”.
Suzi Bond directs a cast of 37 talented community members, with the collaboration of musical director Pedro Ka’awaloa and choreographer Carmen Richardson. Armando Mendoza will conduct the orchestra of 22 local musicians who will accompany the cast. UH-Hilo Kapili Choir member Rachel Edwards stars as Cinderella with Ka’awaloa playing her handsome Prince. KDEN veterans Erin Gallagher, Stephanie Becher and Cristina Hussey are the Stepmother and Stepsisters. Real life husband and wife Dick Hershberger and Arlene Araki are the King and Queen. Helie Rock is the Fairy Godmother. Byron Karr is the Herald and Roch Jones is the Town Crier. Stephen Bond and Lawrence Mano are the Steward and the Chef and lead dancers along with Angie Jara and Briana Tucker-Archie. Other members of the cast are: Kameron and Sawyer Becher, Clara, Julia and Louisa Cellini, Jessie Coney, Allison Cornett, Dan “Kana”Covington, Austin and Madison Directo, Nathan Ducasse, RaVani Flood, Ella Johnson, Katie Kluzak, Elizabeth and Kathy Mulliken, Dawn and Kyle Pelletier, Asia Ring, Teagan Rutkowski, Makayla Tucker-Archie, Emily Tsuji, and Esther Zamora.
The show runs July 13 - 29, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2:30 at KMC’s Kilauea Theater within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
